22:00hrs “47” and “38” were sent to I 70 east near mile 25 for the reported tractor trailer rolled over a hill with entrapment and on fire. Chief 47 arrived to find no fire but one person heavily trapped and a diesel leak from the left saddle tank. Once crews arrived, they were split into several assignments including fluid control, patient protection and care, stabilization, and extrication. Once given the order, the extrication crew began working theit way to the driver who claimed to be uninjured. With the work of several volunteers and several sets of rescue tools, the driver was soon freed and turned over to awaiting EMS to be evaluated for what appeared to be minor injuries. Crews remained on scene for a short period of time following the extrication but were then released by state police. Thankfully, the truck was only carrying a load of watermelons.
